Amado Maurilio Pena, Jr.

Amado is a Mestizo of Mexican and Yaqui ancestry. His art celebrates the strength of a people who meet the harsh realities of life in an uncompromising land, and his work is a tribute to the Native Americans who survive by living in harmony with an adversarial, untamed environment.

His artwork is inspired by places such as Canyon de Chelly, Spider Rock, Monument Valley, Enchanted Mesa, Acoma, and Black Mesa. These sites are part of an enduring landscape that speaks of the ancient heritage of a region that is now known as Arizona and New Mexico.  Amado's artwork is defined by its bold color and form and dynamic composition.

Through his art, he communicates his vision of a land, its people and their art. Amado Peña is recognized as an Artisan of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona. This is a particularly high honor and one that he cherishes. He is dedicated to furthering the public's knowledge and interest in the Tribe, its art, its history, and its culture.

James Hinkle

James Hinkle introduction to the arts started at the age of 9 when classroom drawings show some talent for drawing war scenes with stick figures of cowboys and Indians. This led to art classes at the Fort Worth Children Museum during 1966 with many more art classes following throughout secondary school and high school. College ensued next, with degrees in Studio art and Art education from the University Of Texas in Austin in 1984. From there the trail goes cold, until 2008.

A rebirth of sorts took place and the latent talent revived itself after years of taking a backseat to a musical career spanning 30 plus years of touring, recording and producing Roots/ Blues music.

After years of traveling and performing it is now time for the images to come forward. Portraits mainly of people met along the way and places seen. Since 2008, Hinkle has produced paintings that are hanging in private collections from Texas to Belgium and many points in between.

Chris DeRubeis: February 23rd, 2014

DeRubeis' paintings bring to you the world of celestial abstraction that captures colored soaked light which appears to spring from De Rubeis' art. With his soft lines, he weaves together forms of metal sculpture and paint to make his composition flow in harmony.

Peter Max: March 7th, 2014 7pm - 9pm

Peter Max was trained at the Art Students League, Pratt Institute, and the School of Visual Arts, all in New York. After closing his design studio in 1964, Peter began creating his characteristic paintings and graphic prints.

Patrick Guyton: March 22nd, 2014  6pm - 9pm

Patrick Guyton, an artist of sophisticated simplicity, has developed his own unique style of imagery using the substrate of Japanese leafing as part of his medium. He created a new style on gold and silver leaf with influences from Japanese Kamakura period, combined with the glazing technique of Flemish Masters.
